isn’t everything

to Darren

Darren Breeze is well known for his large architectural wall art pieces but on his recent visit to our club he went for something a little more manageable.

The aim was to introduce members to texture and colour on a couple of smaller than usual pieces. The first of which was an aged chalice that had been turned, textured with a variety of implements, then finished with metal reactive paint to give it an authentic look.

The second piece was a turned ash bowl which had been stained orange. Darren demonstrated how to work gold gilt cream in to the grain of the wood to give a fascinatingly unusual finish.
